“Man Fires Gun in Kinston Bar Parking Lot, Faces Multiple Charges”

KIN ston, N.C. (WITN) — Two people are facing charges after an investigation into a shots-fired call outside a Kinston bar on Friday.Kinston police responded to the Heritage bar, located at 127 W. Gordon Street, following reports of a fight and shots fired.Upon arrival, officers launched an investigation and identified a suspect vehicle along with evidence consistent with gunfire.A short time later, police located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

The driver, 22-year-old Zakaria Toutah, was initially released while the investigation continued.During the traffic stop, 21-year-old Lanijah Wilson pulled up in her car and attempted to interfere with the investigation. Officers observed signs of impairment and arrested her for driving while impaired.Investigators later determined that Wilson’s passenger was involved in the original fight at the Heritage bar.Through video footage obtained by police, investigators confirmed that Toutah had fired a gun multiple times in the parking lot.

Officers then obtained a search warrant for Toutah’s home in the 300 block of Dupont Circle and arrested him during the execution of the warrant.Toutah faces multiple charges, including discharging a weapon into occupied property, discharging a firearm within city limits, littering, injury to real property, assault by pointing a gun, and going armed to the terror of the public

.Court records show that Toutah is not a U.S. citizen and is considered a high flight risk, with several pending cases in Lenoir and Craven counties.Toutah is being held in the Lenoir County Jail without bond. Wilson was booked into jail under a $5,000 bond.
