“From Emergency Delivery to Lifelong Family: Alan and Chloe’s Story”

On February 15, 2004, firefighter and paramedic Alan Kent responded to what appeared to be a routine emergency call in Colorado Springs. A woman named Stacy Huddle had suddenly gone into active labor at home, and the baby was arriving much faster than expected.Upon arrival, Alan heard Stacy calling out from upstairs and immediately realized there was no time to transport her to the hospital.
He quickly prepared his crew for an emergency home delivery. Moments later, Alan safely delivered a baby girl named Chloe Faith Huddle. In that special moment, he became the very first person to hold her in his arms. For most firefighters, it would have been just another call. But for Alan and the Huddle family, it marked the beginning of a lifelong bond.Grateful for his help, the family later visited Fire Station 15 to thank Alan and his crew.
What started as a simple thank-you visit soon became a cherished tradition. Chloe grew up celebrating many of her birthdays at the fire station with Alan and the firefighters who had helped bring her into the world. As the years went by, Alan became far more than the man who delivered her — he became a true part of the family.
He attended the weddings of Chloe’s older siblings and remained close with the Huddles for more than twenty years. In April 2026, after retiring from 35 years of service, Alan traveled over 800 miles to Phoenix, Arizona, to watch 22-year-old Chloe graduate from college. And their beautiful story continues — Alan is also expected to be there on her wedding day.
