“He Stole $100 Million from Google and Facebook Using Only Emails – The Shocking Story”

Between 2013 and 2015, Evaldas Rimasauskas defrauded Google and Facebook of $100 million through a sophisticated business email compromise scam. He posed as a legitimate hardware manufacturer, using forged documents and spoofed emails to trick the companies’ financial departments into wiring massive payments
.The Lithuanian national established a fraudulent company with a nearly identical name and created fake contracts signed by high-level executives. This calculated deception allowed him to divert the funds into various international bank accounts before the massive scheme was eventually uncovered by authorities.
Rimasauskas was extradited to the United States and sentenced to five years in prison in 2019. While much of the money was recovered, this case remains a stark warning about how easily even the most advanced corporations can fall victim to targeted phishing attacks.
