One Dead, One Shot in Leg After Bloody Hotel Room Shootout in Florida

Inside a room at the Hotel Del Sol on Highway 29 in Escambia County, Florida, three men were sharing the same space. What began as an ordinary gathering quickly turned deadly.According to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, a violent confrontation erupted, leaving one man dead and another seriously injured with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The first victim was able to escape the room despite his injuries. He staggered out of the hotel and made it to a vacant building next door before collapsing. Emergency responders rushed him to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The second victim was also shot but survived his leg wound and is expected to recover.The suspect, 23-year-old Ke’Shawn Warren, fled the scene immediately after the shooting.

He ran north from the hotel, jumped a fence, and injured his own leg and arm during the escape. Authorities located and arrested him just hours later on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. He is currently being held without bond in the Escambia County Jail, facing serious charges of murder and attempted murder.Sheriff Chip Simmons addressed the incident, stating that the motive behind the shooting remains unclear. He also noted that shootings of this nature — occurring in broad daylight — are uncommon in the area. The investigation is still active as detectives work to piece together exactly what led to the deadly confrontation inside the hotel room.
