“One Taught 25 Years, the Other Since 2020: Both Accused with the Same Student”

One had taught there for 25 years. The other had been on staff since 2020. Both are accused of grooming the same teenage boy at the same time.Two former teachers at Centennial High School in Peoria, Arizona, face allegations of sexual misconduct involving the same teenage student.
Haley Beck and Angela Burlaka were placed on administrative leave in August 2025 after the claims surfaced.Burlaka, who had worked at the school for 25 years, resigned and surrendered her teaching certificates. Beck, who was hired in 2020, refused to resign and was unanimously fired by the school board.According to a nearly 200-page police report, rumors of inappropriate relationships had circulated at the school for months.
The principal received multiple complaints from both students and staff. Police submitted charges to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office — recommending pandering charges against Beck and furnishing obscene material to a minor against Burlaka. Prosecutors initially sent the case back for further investigation. Police resubmitted the charges in April 2026, stating there is sufficient evidence.No arrests have been made so far. Unconfirmed reports from witnesses suggest there may be other student victims as well. A child abuse expert noted that only about 4% of child sexual predators are women.
