On her way to work, a nurse from Essex, England, discovered an abandoned suitcase containing 15 kittens, aged 3-5 weeks, hidden in a bush. The bag had holes to let air in, suggesting someone wanted them to survive. The suitcase was left near an animal refuge.
The nurse called shelter worker Alison Gamble, who found the kittens in good condition but noted some had eye infections. They hadn’t been weaned, so they required feeding. The shelter is caring for them until they’re old enough for adoption.
