When he left the dentist’s office that day, his gums were severely swollen and bleeding heavily.According to his wife Alicia, harmful bacteria from his mouth entered his bloodstream through the damaged gums. This triggered a rapid and life-threatening case of severe sepsis, along with a rare and extremely dangerous complication known as purpura fulminans. His condition worsened at an alarming rate.
He soon went into septic shock, his heart stopped, and his hands began turning black from tissue necrosis.In a desperate race to save his life, doctors were forced to make the heartbreaking decision to amputate both of his legs below the knee, his left forearm, and his right hand.Davon is now fighting bravely to recover from this devastating medical ordeal.
