A Utah mother is facing serious criminal charges after she allegedly took justice into her own hands in a tense neighborhood conflict involving her daughter and an 11-year-old boy.Shannon Tufuga, 40, of Provo, Utah, was formally charged on March 23 with child kidnapping and aggravated child abuse. The disturbing incident is said to have taken place in September 2025.According to court documents, Tufuga got behind the wheel and drove around the neighborhood specifically looking for the boy. When she finally spotted him riding his bike, she blocked his path with her car, preventing him from continuing on his way. She then allegedly forced the frightened 11-year-old to get into her vehicle against his will.

Once inside the car, she made him apologize directly to her daughter. Witnesses and court filings claim she went even further, reportedly threatening to have her husband physically beat the boy. Adding to the intimidation, the boy’s mother later told authorities that Tufuga’s husband was present during the confrontation with a gun visibly holstered on his hip.
